Capital Grant Scheme

CAPITAL GRANT SCHEME

A relatively new addition to the grant funding mix offered by the Dartington Cattle Breeding Trust, the Capital Grant Scheme aims to help young farmers and new entrants to purchase a capital item(s) that would further their business prospects.

Applications are welcome from forward-thinking farmers who are keen to progress within the livestock sector of agriculture.

The grant is an award for capital expenditure of up to 50% of an approved project cost to a maximum grant of £10,000.

The grant must relate to an aspect of livestock production.

The grant must be used primarily to generate income or reduce costs rather than increase asset value.

Suitable applicants will normally farm in Cornwall and Devon.

If no suitable project is presented in any one year, then no award will be made.

Priority will be given to new entrants to farming.

Applicants must complete the approved application form, which can be obtained from the Trust Manager and complete a meeting with one of the Trustees prior to the submission of the application.

The award is competitive and applications will be assessed by the Board of Trustees whose decision will be final.

The award will lapse if not claimed within 12 months of the date of the letter from the Trust Manager informing the successful applicant that a grant has been awarded.
